With 58 per cent of employees deciding in their first month whether they will stay in a new role, induction and first impressions play a key role in boosting staff retention.
To assist organisations embed employees into new roles, LINK HR Consulting has launched a Transition Coaching service for managers, leaders and high value candidates.
In the new service, candidates and their managers undertake a psychological assessment and are then matched with a business coach suitable for their role and industry.
“Senior staff only have a short time to make an impact, but also need support which can be difficult to ask for,” explains June Parker, General Manager of LINK HR Consulting.
This service also gives support to the candidate’s direct manager as part of the coaching.
“Transition Coaching recognises that the success of a role is often a partnership between the candidate, their manager and the organisation and facilitates the best way to work together.”
The first meeting during the three-month coaching period is between the coach, manager and new employee, and aims to clearly articulate the role objectives and the outcomes required of the employee. Both the manager and the new employee receive a de-brief to help them understand each other’s working style.
The coach then meets with the new employee to facilitate their transition into the company and support them in achieving these objectives.
“Transition Coaching is unique in the marketplace and provides a real point of difference when attracting candidates. It ensures new starters feel valued and supported,” Parker says.
LINK HR Consulting coaches come from a variety of backgrounds including senior executives who have worked in large corporations, former elite athletes or coaches with psychology background. The highly qualified and accredited coaches are chosen specifically for candidate needs.
