Pictograms, icons and symbols have been part of our culture for thousands of years. They have allowed us to transcend the limits of language and are a feature of public spaces across the world; quietly instructing, explaining, warning us.

What’s in a name?

Our name is who we are. It's a simple truth, but the art of naming or renaming an organisation is one of the more esoteric aspects of branding. Names dutifully carry the weight of meaning bestowed by their creators while bearing the extra load of words and actions that they become associated with.

Good blogs love company

In 2011, Washington Post reporter Brian Vastag asked us to “imagine a stack of CDs, each holding an album’s worth of digital music, shooting from the top of [our desks] to 50,000 miles beyond the moon.” Apparently that’s how many CDs it would take to store the digital data the world produces in just two months.
